What is born of the flesh is flesh; what is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6)

Only that which is born of the Spirit remains forever.

✝️ 2. Galatians 2:20 – I live, yet not I

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

(Galatians 2:20)

Here Paul speaks of a radical inner transformation:

  • The former “I” – full of passions, pride, and self-will – is crucified with Christ.

  • In its place, Christ Himself now dwells in the heart:

    • no longer anger, but gentleness,

    • no longer greed, but contentment,

    • no longer vanity, but humility.

These virtues are not merely human discipline –

they are signs that Christ is at work within us.

The more we make room for Him, the more the old self dies.

This is the path of true spiritual life.

🔥 3. Galatians 3:3 – Begun in the Spirit – ending in the flesh?

“Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?”

(Galatians 3:3)

This is a warning:

Many begin their journey with genuine faith,

touched inwardly by the Holy Spirit.

But then they drift into:

  • external legalism,

  • pious masks,

  • self-righteousness, or even

  • a return to fleshly desires.

The spiritual path cannot be completed through the flesh –

that is, through human strength, control, or external performance.

It can only continue through trust, grace, and daily repentance.

Only those who remain in the Spirit will complete the work.

Only then does struggle become transfiguration.
