Der Mensch trägt zwei Seelen in sich,

die animalische Seele, die nach Überleben, Lust, Sicherheit und Macht strebt,

und die höhere Seele, die nach Wahrheit, Liebe und Einheit mit dem Göttlichen verlangt.

Die Aufgabe des Menschen ist es nicht, die animalische Seele zu zerstören,

sondern sie zu erziehen – wie ein Kind, das geführt werden muss,

oder wie ein wildes Pferd, das den Reiter schließlich an sein Ziel trägt.

Die Erziehung geschieht durch fünf Wege:

1. Bewusstsein und Disziplin – die animalische Seele erkennen und ihre Impulse bändigen.

2. Kanalisieren – ihre Kräfte nicht unterdrücken, sondern in Richtung Liebe, Hingabe und Aufbau leiten.

3. Gebet und Stille – damit sie die Sehnsucht nach Höherem lernt.

4. Taten des Guten – durch konkrete Handlungen formt man ihre Natur um.

5. Freude und Leichtigkeit – denn Freude öffnet, während Schwere verschließt.

So wächst die animalische Seele Schritt für Schritt heran,

bis sie in die höhere Seele hineinwächst,

bis das Niedere dem Höheren dient,

und der ganze Mensch von innen her durchlichtet wird.

Man carries within him two souls:

the animal soul, reaching for survival, pleasure, security, and power,

and the higher soul, longing for truth, love, and union with the Divine.

The task is not to destroy the animal soul,

but to educate it –

like a child that must be guided,

or a wild horse that learns to carry the rider to his destination.

This education unfolds through five pathways:

1. Awareness and discipline – to see the impulses and bring them under control.

2. Channeling – not suppressing the drives, but directing them toward love, service, and creation.

3. Prayer and stillness – so that the heart of the animal soul begins to yearn for the higher.

4. Acts of goodness – for action reshapes nature, and each good deed engraves holiness upon the instincts.

5. Joy and lightness – for joy opens, while heaviness closes.

Step by step, the animal soul grows,

until it matures into the higher soul,

until the lower serves the higher,

and the whole being shines with inner light.
